Betting on Holger Rune

Only bet with bookmakers licensed in your country. How betting on Holger Rune’s matches works – and how to keep it under control.

Updated 24 October 2026 ·

If you want to bet on Holger Rune, one rule comes before everything else: only bet with bookmakers licensed in the country where you live. In Denmark that means a licence from the Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden); in the United Kingdom it is the Gambling Commission, and most other countries have their own regulator. This page explains how to check a licence, which tennis betting markets you will usually find and what is special about betting on tennis. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over only, or older where local law requires it.

Betting on Holger Rune with licensed bookmakers only

A licence means that a regulator supervises the operator, that player funds and identity checks follow the rules, and that you have somewhere to complain if something goes wrong. An unlicensed site gives you none of that protection. In Denmark it is illegal for bookmakers without a Danish licence to target Danish players, and only licensed operators are connected to the national self-exclusion register ROFUS.

How to check a licence in Denmark

  • Look the company up. The Danish Gambling Authority publishes the list of licence holders on spillemyndigheden.dk. Search for the company name, not just the brand.
  • Look for the authority's mark. A licensed operator must state on its front page that it is licensed and supervised by the Danish Gambling Authority and must use the authority's label. A logo alone is not proof, so always check the list.
  • Identity check with MitID. Danish operators must verify your identity; until that is done, only a temporary account can be opened.
  • A deposit limit from day one. Before you can bet you must set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit; raising it takes effect after 24 hours at the earliest.

Outside Denmark, check your own regulator's public register in the same way – for example the Gambling Commission's register in Great Britain.

Which markets exist on a tennis match?

The choice varies by bookmaker and by tournament, but most ATP matches come with the same basic markets. They are explained here neutrally – this is not a recommendation of any of them.

Match winner

The simplest bet: who wins the match? There are only two outcomes, because a tennis match cannot end in a draw.

Sets

Who wins the first set, will the match go to two or three sets, or what is the exact score in sets, such as 2-0 or 2-1? ATP Tour matches are best of three sets; only at the Grand Slams do men play best of five.

Games and handicaps

A total games market asks whether the match will have more or fewer games than a set line. A handicap gives one player a head start or a deficit in games or sets: a handicap of minus 3.5 games, for example, means the player must win at least four games more than the opponent.

Live betting

During the match the odds change after every point, game and set. It moves fast, which is exactly why live betting is where it is easiest to lose track of what you have spent. Set your limit before the match starts.

What is special about tennis: retirements and withdrawals

If a player retires during a match, bookmakers settle bets differently: some void the bet, others let it stand once a certain number of sets or games has been played. The rules are in each bookmaker's terms – read them first.

Withdrawals before a match happen too. On 18 October 2026 Holger Rune pulled out of Brussels because his back had seized up; according to the ATP, scans showed nothing serious. After almost a year out injured he enters tournaments with a protected ranking of No. 14, while his regular ranking is No. 1205 (as of 19 October 2026). Draws are usually published a few days before a tournament and start times the evening before. His next tournament is Swiss Indoors Basel (26 Oct – 1 Nov); the full plan is on Holger Rune's schedule and the latest details on the next match page.

Our partner and how links on this site work

Holger Rune Tennis works with a bookmaker licensed in Denmark, which we simply call our partner. Ads and links to the partner are labelled as advertising and go through an internal redirect on our own domain. As of 23 October 2026 the partner link is not active yet, so a click only leads to a neutral page. We do not promise bonuses, and we do not show odds or offers we cannot stand behind.

The partnership has no influence on our articles, results or predictions; how the site is funded is explained in our affiliate disclosure. Holger Rune, his family and his team have no connection to this site or to our partner.

Betting on Holger Rune responsibly

Betting should be entertainment, not a way to make money. Over time bettors lose on average, because the bookmaker's margin is built into every price. Only bet an amount you have decided in advance you can do without, and never chase losses.
